Ok, was thinking about this the other night, and i was trying to think of the ultimate sleeper short of a geo metro with a 350 in it...and here's a couple i came up with...
86 Cavalier RS w/ the GNX turbo 6-cyl *'m sure it could be done*Come on we ALL know cavaliers are slow especially old ones https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/happy.png ) any daihatsu small car with a 13B https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif Chevy Monza w/ the V8 and 5-Spd (it looked like a gremlin for god's sake) Fiero with a 13b...not sure on the weight but i think they are lighter than the 7 since they're all fiberglass... You ppl have any opinions on this? got some better ideas? POST 'EM! ENTERTAIN ME!!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683246.gif |
No a 20b Festiva. Put the seat on the rear bumper. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif

my old 323 gtx was the ultimate sleeper. stock 323 on the outside, but AWD and FD fast.
|
for a short while, my stepmom had a fiero. I had started dreaming of the possibilities, then it was gone

when i worked at a local car audio store some guy had a honda crx with primer paint and a bunch of dents and stock hims, and some exhaust, looked real REALLY slow, but had a lt1 vette engine in that....think it was an older vette engine....but that thing was quick

back to the yugo's ... .. this guy here races at the local drag strip for atleast 10 years now. Cool old guy Dave something..... anyway...the car was originally 52 hp and ran 21s in a 1/4. Now it has about 115hp and has run in the 14.70s in the 1/4.

here is his SCCA car, as you can see from the pic, he's an old crazy bastard LOL
|
V-8 converted Monzas are very popular.
I know a guy who has a 8 second monza, or at least he used to, havent seen him in a few years. Dont think a BOSS 302 will fit in a Escort, too wide, maybe a normal 302 though. |
i met the crazy yugo guy. he is pretty cool!
|
We've gotta get the Batmobile!
And drop something fun in it.. what about the Lemans 4 rotor? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif |
The best sleeper I can think of was owned by a guy in VA...it was a stock looking Mitsu Mirage with an Eclipse GST engine under the hood.
|
Oh.. yea.. sleepers.. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif

I need to find an older back wheel drive car that is COMPLETELY inconspicious
and put a 13b in it and terrorize EVERYONE...gotta be a pretty small car tho, to get better power/weight ratio...... >https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png Sean |
Are old Fiats rear wheel drive.. Those would be nice.. but very similar to the triumph or midgets..
|
How bout and old Opel.. The one with the vette style lights.. Slap a 3 rotor in there..
Or a 13b in a Austin Mini.. Just convert it to rear drive.. |
Someone else had mentioned a Geo with a B18 in it.. trhat would be nice..
I think I would do a Daihatsu Charade with a maybe 13b or if not a type R engine, but if we keep it mazda, then maybe a 323 Turbo engine.. |
there is a VW Kharman-Ghia at the guy i took my car too..wonder how much he wants
for it :P |
you just need this:
A volvo 740 wagon, its rear drive, and has a solid rear axle, with LOTS of room under the hood. Add big block chevy with nice quiet mufflers, and the properly offset wheels so they do not look to wild. Let the beatings begin! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683431.gif |
fiero is no good, there is no transaxle made for the 13b yet, (as far as i know)
hey they made a motorcycle with a viper engine, why not a 20B |

I drove a gutted B18C Metro with a T3/T4 on 15PSI for a week. It estimate it pushed 450WHP easily. My dad didn't let me keep it, it was way to fast. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

Check this video out. This is my freind Claude, he had this car a while back. Check this out, when he went to Etown that day, they did not want to let him in since they thought he would abandon the car!!! SpeedNYC was there too!!

I thought honda motors spun different directions then normal ones. |
Great question Lee, the answer is simple, when you have an engine like the B18, the easiest way to have no problems is to mate it to a tranny that will fit that engine. So all you have to do is make sure that the body of the Metro can fit (and if it can't, you can try and make it) the B18C, an ITR Type R tranny and rear end. This sounds very simple but it's not obviously, the Metro's engine bay is VERY cramped compared to an ITR and so is the underbody including the tranny tunnel. This car was heavily modded in all directions, and it worked great. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

no transaxle Chainsaw? i am dumb remember :P i have seen a 13b VW bug on here
so if that's what you're talking about i'm sure SOMEONE can do it https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png |

I think https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif was it a B18 or a B18C5? cause the C5 is the ITR's engine. i've heard ITR's with turbos...the sound is sick, hell the VTEC on the B18C5 sounds sick alone. kevin. |
Tek, B18C is all I was told, he said it was out of a GSR.

GS-R engine vs. Type-R engine (aka B18 vs B18C5) is about a 1 to .5 second difference in the 1/4 mile (my friend has a GS-R hooked up that runs 14.9, my friends type-r stock runs 14.5) the vtec on the B18 is a tad quieter and weaker then on the C5, both are good engines, as far as honda is concerned. kevin. |
450hp on a metro is insane either way.
