Ok, was thinking about this the other night, and i was trying to think of the ultimate sleeper short of a geo metro with a 350 in it...and here's a couple i came up with...

86 Cavalier RS w/ the GNX turbo 6-cyl *'m sure it could be done*Come on we ALL know cavaliers are slow especially old ones https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/happy.png )

any daihatsu small car with a 13B https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

Chevy Monza w/ the V8 and 5-Spd (it looked like a gremlin for god's sake)

Fiero with a 13b...not sure on the weight but i think they are lighter than

the 7 since they're all fiberglass...

You ppl have any opinions on this? got some better ideas?

Baldy 04-22-2003 03:07 PM

for a short while, my stepmom had a fiero. I had started dreaming of the possibilities, then it was gone

here is his SCCA car, as you can see from the pic, he's an old crazy bastard LOL

Rob x-7 04-22-2003 08:49 PM

V-8 converted Monzas are very popular.

I know a guy who has a 8 second monza, or at least he

used to, havent seen him in a few years.

Dont think a BOSS 302 will fit in a Escort, too wide, maybe a normal 302 though.

vosko 04-22-2003 11:29 PM

i met the crazy yugo guy. he is pretty cool!

rx7machine 04-23-2003 12:39 AM

We've gotta get the Batmobile!

And drop something fun in it.. what about the Lemans 4 rotor? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

UniqueTII 04-23-2003 03:49 AM

The best sleeper I can think of was owned by a guy in VA...it was a stock looking Mitsu Mirage with an Eclipse GST engine under the hood.

rx7machine 04-23-2003 08:12 AM

Oh.. yea.. sleepers.. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif

1894 car comes to town

In the mirrored exhibit hall, there are 87 gleaming, meticulously restored automobiles that dazzle anyone who's ever driven a car.In the lobby is a faded, buckboard-looking thing that would barely earn a glance from most car-lovers.Which is more valuable? Ask DeVoe Moore, who just traded 10 of those shiny cars for the buckboard thing. That's because it's an 1894 Duryea - the second car ever built in America."My wife can't understand why Click here for complete article

I need to find an older back wheel drive car that is COMPLETELY inconspicious

and put a 13b in it and terrorize EVERYONE...gotta be a pretty small car tho,

to get better power/weight ratio...... >https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

75 Repu 04-23-2003 05:16 PM

Are old Fiats rear wheel drive.. Those would be nice.. but very similar to the triumph or midgets..

75 Repu 04-23-2003 05:18 PM

How bout and old Opel.. The one with the vette style lights.. Slap a 3 rotor in there..

Or a 13b in a Austin Mini.. Just convert it to rear drive..

75 Repu 04-23-2003 05:26 PM

Someone else had mentioned a Geo with a B18 in it.. trhat would be nice..

I think I would do a Daihatsu Charade with a maybe 13b or if not a type R engine, but if we keep it mazda, then maybe a 323 Turbo engine..

CrashFactory 04-23-2003 07:34 PM

there is a VW Kharman-Ghia at the guy i took my car too..wonder how much he wants

for it :P

Apex13B 04-23-2003 07:55 PM

you just need this:

A volvo 740 wagon, its rear drive, and has a solid rear axle, with LOTS of room under the hood.

Add big block chevy with nice quiet mufflers, and the properly offset wheels so they do not look to wild.

Let the beatings begin! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683431.gif

ChainSawOnSteroids 04-23-2003 08:12 PM

fiero is no good, there is no transaxle made for the 13b yet, (as far as i know)

hey they made a motorcycle with a viper engine, why not a 20B

I know of 2 Volvo sedans with fuel injected 302's in them.

Easy swap and they even have the A/C

Srce 04-23-2003 09:31 PM

I drove a gutted B18C Metro with a T3/T4 on 15PSI for a week. It estimate it pushed 450WHP easily. My dad didn't let me keep it, it was way to fast. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

cool, I didn't know there was a rwd volvo....I'm always thinking what could be done if my mother-in-law wrecked her T5 volvo...mmm...inline turbo 5....those front wheels lose traction way too easily

but the leather and dolby 9 speaker make up for it!

AnthonyNYC 04-24-2003 10:32 AM

Check this video out. This is my freind Claude, he had this car a while back. Check this out, when he went to Etown that day, they did not want to let him in since they thought he would abandon the car!!! SpeedNYC was there too!!

any idea on how he got the engine working in there?, some friends wanna know.

I thought honda motors spun different directions then normal ones.

Srce 04-24-2003 06:11 PM

Great question Lee, the answer is simple, when you have an engine like the B18, the easiest way to have no problems is to mate it to a tranny that will fit that engine. So all you have to do is make sure that the body of the Metro can fit (and if it can't, you can try and make it) the B18C, an ITR Type R tranny and rear end. This sounds very simple but it's not obviously, the Metro's engine bay is VERY cramped compared to an ITR and so is the underbody including the tranny tunnel. This car was heavily modded in all directions, and it worked great. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

was it a B18 or a B18C5? cause the C5 is the ITR's engine.

i've heard ITR's with turbos...the sound is sick, hell the VTEC on the B18C5 sounds sick alone.

Tek, B18C is all I was told, he said it was out of a GSR.

oh, thats a completely different engine then.

GS-R engine vs. Type-R engine (aka B18 vs B18C5) is about a 1 to .5 second difference in the 1/4 mile (my friend has a GS-R hooked up that runs 14.9, my friends type-r stock runs 14.5)

the vtec on the B18 is a tad quieter and weaker then on the C5, both are good engines, as far as honda is concerned.

450hp on a metro is insane either way.
