People were modding the GLH years before the RX-7, it was ugly, but it was light as well, I knew someone that had one, and a small turbo Renault, the Renault was no joke though, I forget the model, but its a serious car.

OMNI GLH
I thought it stood for Great Little Hotrod They were the first (and last?) to use a variable vanes to change the pitch of the airflow on the impeller. 175 HP? 2.2 liter |
No, Vosco is right, it really stood for Goes Like Hell, it was actually a Carrol Shelby car.
|
That's silly. No matter how fast it went, you'd still be driving an Omni, and that's just sad.
|
haha, yeah, stil a onmi but id daily drive it and t78 turbo as well, lmao, mu ha ha ha hah aha possible? i dont have a clue?

It was a Box, but this was back when the RABBIT was cool. Or Ah well at least the GTI
Everybody got in on the BOX on wheels... Honda Civic, Ford Festia, then the Escort, Fiat 128, and of course the Dogde Omni. I remember reading of a guy with a 13' sec 1/4 minivan with the 2.2 GLH engine in it bolted to a Automatic no less. Never drove one, but I would guess 2nd gear speed shifts would be a bitch with all that FWD torque steer. |
