That what's killing me man.. if the Evo does reach the 400hp mark or even the 600 hp mark like the HKS Evo.. why is it so hard for the FD to reach such marks? I mean, I don't hear all that much about 600hp FD's.. unless they have alot mods and tuning.. but, even if the Evo/Sti hits these high hp marks, will the FD still be able to handle them just with the basic bolt ons? or even stock?

Yea, that's true.. but are the FD's 1/8, 1/4, and 0-60 times going to better than the Evo's/Sti's? Even if they have more hp.. Sorry for the dumbass Q's..

again, just to add another opinion, but here goes...



both cars are rally bred. well, subaru does far better in the ranks of the dirvers and the manufacturers cup standings, and well, there is the first example. second, the wrx looks TONS better, and finally, it will be a litte cheaper than the evo VIII, and shold be lilght years ahead of it anyway because of the already strong presence of the aftermarket support for performance......the mitsu will be behind it for some time.....and will most likely exceed the wrx product prices too.....diamond star **** is expensive...

Not to argue, but I have to disagree on some points.



The STi is the same price as the Evo, if not more, the STi is going to be

$32000, the WRX is a bargain by comparison, but is no comparison to either car.



As for the aftermarket, just because the Evo is new to the states, doesnt mean it is a new car. Not to mention the engine that is in the Evo has been out since the early 90's, the aftermarket presence for that engine is VERY strong. DSM cars were the cars that started the whole import scene in the late 80s, it was them and the Supras.



A stock Evo pulls almost a full G on the skidpad, .97 versus the Subaru's .84

Drivers in Evos won the WRC championships in 93,96,97,98 and 99, not too shabby.

I haven't ever really understood the whole skid pad thing.. so, the bigger the points on the skid pad, the better?

it is a new day though. however you look at it, there will be a good aftermarket taking to either one, and that is what counts.



there is plenty of foriegn support, true, but look at the support that the wrx already has.



the lancer is *claimed*, in about 3 magazined that i have to cost close to 40K, and so does the wrx sti. i am interested in seeing which one is actually cheaper...



i know about the championships, but with the newer cars in the line up now, the lancer is the old cat on the block and is having to play catch-up in the points standings for the last 3 years. they are a ways behind even now this year....

With all the pressure the EVO's get from the STi's, I can beat you in a couple years the EVO will show everyone what they can do.

People keep asking me if im going to trade up my WRX to a STi, i always get a good laugh. The STi is not cheap. I bought the WRX because, IMO, it was best daily driver i could buy in my price range. 35-40k for an STi is a bit hard to swallow. And id have to sell one of my rx-7's, and that aint gonna happen!!!!

True, a WRX is a good car for the price, but at $35000 or so it makes

you think twice.
