well, i dont profess to know it all, because i really dont. but i really believe that r34's can be registered, driven, ect... how did gay craig lieberman get his (motorex, shhhh)? how do they advertise an r34 for 80k on thier website? maybe thats why the government is all up their ass, if u know anyone who works at motorex, ask them they will tell you. i do agree with you about motorex and rb being the only legalizers

They sell the car, but that doesn't mean it will be street legal. Some people will buy them for race only. Bad dog is correct the reason is ODB-II compliance.

then why does it sell for 90k? If i'm correct when the r34 was new....it would cost around 35 or 40k us dollars....so your telling me a used one will be double the price for what reason? shipping? How come sport compact car can do an article about driving around a r34 skyline if they can't be made street legal? don't you think they'd be fined or arrested for it?

BrandonDrecksage 04-08-2004 11:30 PM

how come they list a conversion fee of 25k for a r34 if they can't make it street legal? also, it says they are 50state legal

They can be made legal but a few states they still will not pass in. when the R-34 was new you could get one for 57million yen or 55k or so. the R-34 nur spec was a little over 67million yen those prices are form one of my option magazines when they did a write up on the R-34 nur spec.. To answer the question you had about why so expensive. Depending one what model R-34 you want they can still cost as much as 40k+ now it costs motorx 16k-20k to get them federalized. they add that on to the price of the car. When I wanted to bring my R-32 home they wanted to charge me shipping and conversion..even after I told them that I could get It to them my self they still wanted to charge me 20k. but that was when they were starting out so the costs were quite high, why to cover the initial investment they made to be able to import the car.

I was being sarcastic about the price because i know about the conversion fee, hence the 90k price tag. you can drive then in every state, they are 50state legal! once they are converted, go lok at the faq on motorex website, if they are not 50 state legal, then that is false advertising

damn you don't have to bite my head off. Perhaps some people were not aware of why they cost so much. They also did have a hard time passing that car in california for a while. thats why they were special order for a little bit. I was agreeing with you. They can be made legal, they just had a hard time of it. For a while they couldn't pass all R-34s they would get so it became a special order. perhaps they worked out the problems. And you can drive cars that would be illegal in some states. My set up on my subi was 90% legal in NV (no cat). It was 100% illegal in California. besides its not like we (nopistons) care, we all love the rotary and the 7, thats why we are here https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
