No I’m not talking about a mustang 5.0. I’m talking about Hartge's BMW Z4 5.0. They have taken s62 engine from the e39 m5 and stuffed it into a Z4 with 19 inch Hartge Rims. Apparently the engine just about drops right in but the exhaust isn’t so easy. The link to an article about it is here.

But for you lazy folks ill summarize a bit of it and include some pics (if they'll work)

To summarize the article. These guys basically got a chance to test drive the Z4 5.0. The top speed is limited to 300 kph, which is about 186 miles per hour. It can do 0-62 mph in 4.6 seconds and 0-124 mph in 14.1 seconds. The 400-meter time is 12.7 seconds and the 1000-meter time is 22.5 seconds.

While test-driving they raced an e46 m3 that was lightened by 150kg and had 370hp. They raced on the autobahn and were able to pull on the m3 at all speeds. The z4 had two people and all windows and diffuser and the convertible top down and they were still able to pull at 280 kmh. 5th Gear goes all they way to 260 khm. They also raced an e34 BMW m5 and an r230 Merc sl500, both of which they beat easily. it takes 7 weeks to get a z4 5.0 built by hartge and costs €97 917,24 base and €113 544,83 fully loaded. I don’t know how much money that is though....the commas seem kinda messed up. All and all its a pretty crazy car. Here are the pics if they work.

Some countries in europe use commas instead of decimels and spaces instead of commas , so that would make the prices for the car €97,917.24 to €113,544.83 and converted into dollars = $112,604.83 to $130,576.55.

I like the Z4 a lot more than the Z3. That's not saying much, though.

Diddo....rather see a BMW that doesn't spend half its life in the shop. Until they can do that I don't care if they put a v12 in it.
