ok not that i got ur attention.... my younger brother has a 99 hatch on his hands and he says .. or should i say... he thinks that an LS VTEC ALL MOTOR CAN TAKE ON A 89 TII.. what do you guys think????

Depends on the stickers. If it has a TYPE-R sticker on the side then i would definitely not mess with it!!



Actually you should be able to smoke it easily.

he wants to do the LS VTEC swap and i'm going to do a TII swap soon and we have been arguing about who would win... both cars stock... who would win

99 hatches are heavier then the old bubblebacks so i dunno the power-weight deal with them, i could race a couple LS vtecs (all shapes and sizes have the swap at my school) but my 89 t2 is far from stock...

Well, as a comparison I had an '88 TII with intake, catback, plug wires and pulley kit. I raced a Honda TypeR(99 I believe) with Power FC, intake, exhaust and he beat me consistently. 1st and 2nd gear were even, but 3rd gear he would pull away like it was easy.



If they're both completely stock...TII is where my money is at

Well a LS engine alone would be around 165HP with minor bolt on's and a GS-R VTEC Head would ad tons of power too. You got to remember, LS engines have TONS of torque and the VTEC would add top end as well! im thinkin 200+ HP engine. also with some P205/50R16 Toyo Proxes and 6 speed. Wat do u think?
