So you guys are finally getting skylines? That's great, cause you'll finally get to see how overhyped they are!
Wonder why they switched to a v6? Maybe the balancer shafts add bhp?

Not many I-6 motors left in the states now. I am guessing it is due to emissions? Jeep dropped the 4.0L due to emissions (rumor I heard, so don't quote me).
The car looks nice, but the price tag is insane. I am glad they put a large price tag on that though. So every Skyline fan boy won't buy one.

The I6 is just terrible to package... a long, tall, heavy motor (especially when made of iron like the RB series), and im pretty sure it couldnt pass emissions here in the US anyway. Switching to something based off the VQ is a better choice for the power they're looking for, but i dont know if it'll be more resistant to turning up the boost.
They didnt exactly make it easy to throw on aftermarket turbos tho... the stock manifold and turbine housing look to be one solid cast piece.

Amen. My friends tried to convince me to get an R32 rather than my FD. (do the whole buy/register in Canada thing) They are rather heavy, at least for my taste. Ask someone in Japan who the king of the mountain is. They will tell you (and it ain't the skyline lol) The car reminds me so much of the movie Big Fish. The fish is always bigger if you weren't there to see it.
Is the car supposed to look like a poorly designed Audi or is it just me? Crap that thing looks huge. Is it supposed to be a decent performing sports car? uhhh

It's soooooo ugly! Bastard child of a current-gen Eclipse and a 350z.
LOL - It does kinda look like that! I don't think it is ugly though. I still think that the R34 GTR's were the nicest looking Skylines, but that is just my opinion. I still wouldn't give my FD up for it though!!

I like the way it looks, the 32 and 33 didnt look like each other and they sure as hell dont look like the older ken and mary's. The new one is fitting and one hell of a car. I would take one over an FD if it was offered in a manual and if Nissan had not put so much effort into making it so hard to modify. Such as the single unit turbo's, speed limiter (atleast in japan, US might get lucky there), ECU that controls everything from A/C to Window to Engine to Tranny to ..........
It wont take long for someone to crack into that ECU and be able to put out some more power and also have a piggy back kit to install a stand alone ecu but also keep the stock ecu's amenities.
becareful guys cause this car put down 103 at Tsukuba with stock everything including breaks and tires. The 99 Spec FD put down a high 106 along with the R34 when they were released!
This car will turn heads and unfortunately will kill some people.
