Need A New Daily Driver...300m?

I drive a 2002 Intrepid, before that a 2001 Intrepid. I guess basically the same car, only I have the smaller engine. They've been pretty reliable, the first one up to 187,000kms and this one to 110,000kms.
The transmission is a real slushbox, I don't know if I'd want it with the bigger motor strapped to it if the tranny is the same. Brakes need to be replaced at about 110,000kms (need to do that on this one at next oil change).
Fuel mileage has been quite good for such a big car, I get about 26mpg overall cruising at 75mph and some city driving. The 300M would probably be a little worse than that with the bigger motor, but that isn't always the case.
The original tires were terrible, worn out by 75,000kms.
Other than brakes, tires and windshield wipers, the only additional maintenance cost was a leaking hose on the first one's tranny that was a fairly cheap fix.
Of course the first was only 3 years old when we sold it. It's a company vehicle. I can't comment on what would happen beyond that. It didn't have a spec of rust on it despite our heavy use of salt in the winter up here. Somebody at work bought it from the company for a rediculously low $3600 CDN.
I would say the first one was definately a Wednesday car, it was solid. This one might have been made on Friday afternoon, it does have a horrible squealing drivers window. The first was driven by an old guy before me, the second by a younger guy, it was covered in little dents and had hit a couple somethings. I guess watch to see who drove it before you like any car.
They're pretty damn cheap for a car that can fit 5 adults comfortably for long trips.

They werent RWD, only the new ones are. My friend's bf had one, and one of the tie rods ripped completely out of the steering assembly... apparently it was only held on by one bolt that stripped and fell out or something. I didnt actually take a look at it, but thats what it seemed like happened
