Ok heres the scoop. Austin mini cooper, owned by John cooper made austin mini coopers from 1959-2000 when John Cooper died. Bmw then bought the name mini cooper. The new bmw mini is far from a true mini. Its is a completely different car with only a few exterior similarities. The size is bigger, the weight is more than twice that of an original mini, and engine, chassis, suspension is all completetly different. Its not that i'm bashing the new mini, its a very cool car. The Bmw Cooper S is a pretty quick car, its not slow at all, trust me i've driven one and its impressive. The interior in the bmw coopers is very cool too, nice new age design. They lack a lot of room, with no trunk in the bmw's I actually have more space in my austin cooper. But overall I give them a high rating, a well made car with good looks and handling. I just hate it when people think i have a BMW!! Here comes a butt load of pics!

And last one cause it looks cool. You can see the size difference in the bmw and austin. Like I said, two completely different cars but share the same last name.
