as well as Chevy. |
Ford's can be damn fast. Actually on my way to work this morning I was driving alongside a pimped out 89 5.0. The guy had two or three gauges mounted on the dash, and it sounded mean as hell. I was driving in my moms escort and I tried to pass him. lol He downshifted, and then was gone.....

throw a volvo T5 in there! that thing hauls! (at least it does in my mother-in-law's volvo, s70 I think)
|
A T5 swap would be an insane amount of work...
It's looking like my chances of getting it are growing slim, because I'll probably be spending more on my next TII than expected, but we'll see. |
What's with the wheels on that car? They look as though they are OE wheels off of something, but I just can't place them.
A V8 Volvo? Chevy, Ford, whatever. A SBC or a 302 would be more than enough to make those beasts move with authority. As for making it a winter beater, you'll probably keep driving it on nice days too. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png It's a shame more people don't make projects out of these cars. Sure, they're heavy. But that hasn't ever stopped any other heavy car from becoming a project. They are simply reliable solid cars. A simply reliable solid engine such as a V8 would be a great match for this car. I hope you can make ends meet to get this going. Viva la difference! |
get the ipd suspension it handles good!
are those 300zx wheels? mike |
The wheels are IPD, the suspension has IPD sway bars and Billstein high pressure shocks. Damn, I should buy it no matter what.
EDIT: from the ad: 28mm IPD V8 conversion swaybars -IPD custom 15" aluminum wheels (with VERY good tires) -Italian leather steering wheel (small race style. Another IPD buy) -Bilstein HD shocks all around |
Engine details:
TRW Chomoly rings -TRW SpeedPro flat top hypereutectic pistons -Crane camshaft (.440 lift) -Felpro gaskets, Clevite bearings -ARP rod bolts -new crank -custom oil pan (to clear crossmember) -Weiand aluminum intake -Holley 450 4bbl carb (mechanical secondaries) -New fuel pump -New oil pump -Electronic ignition You get the picture.. Bored .040 over, decked, the whole nine yards. |
