The day started off great; great weather, nice cars, and perfect roads. Unfortunately this is what happened.

looks to me as if someone overcooked that right hander... glad no one was coming the other direction down that road.

Everything was going great, another 400 feet and the people on the run were going to take a break and chill at Harpers Ferry, Maryland. The white car in the photos above was 4th in line. The lead cars 1,2 and 3 started slowing down a lot, as the 90 degree right turn was approaching. The white car for some reason, tried to pass car 3 and #2! Well, as you can see it was way too late before he realized why the cars right in front of him were slowing down. He lost it on the gravel, oversteered and nearly drove into car #2, then overcorrected straight into the pole.



That was the end of the run and the day. Really bad it had to happen. Anyone considering a run should examine the photos carefully. That is what occurs when you drive crazy.

Yeah, funny thing. When I read "local 850" I just thought it was a labor union.



Yes, I like the Volvo's too. I have an old school 940 Turbo wagon. I like the 850's too, except the part where the engines suck in terms of durability. Give me RWD and a bulletproof mill!
