The Last Race...

It was quiet. Too quiet. The only sounds to be heard were Metallica and the sound of a small loping coming from my Tep head and cam. When sitting at a light, the car would quickly idle up and fade back down.
The night was dark, but somewhat warm being in the high 70's. The Quest was running great, and feeling rather perky after my newly installed boost controller. I was simply cruising around the "strip" looking for a kill. Honestly, I was looking for anything that'd be worth my gas.
Sadly, it seemed as if no one was out that night, and I began to head home. Thinking I had wasted a night and some gas from all the cruising, I calmy pulled up to the last stop light downtown, and waited for the long signal. To my suprise, as I looked in the mirror I saw a set of headlights coming up rather fast and switching into the opposite lane. Had someone seen my late night prowling? Had this bunk town givin me something worth a run?
It had. The auto gods had given me something to run in the form of a 94 or so TT Supra. I'd seen the car around, but never driving. It was a very simple car. Stock alloys, beautifully glossy red paint, wingless...and a shiny little "Limited Edition Twin Turbo" badge gracefully placed on the trunk lid. Maybe it was the sound of my open downpipe...Maybe it was the sound of my car gently loping...Maybe it was the sound of a turbo spooling gently each time the revs popped up...Whatever it was, it caused the Supra driver to rev.
As I sit, slack jawed staring at this beautiful car, I realize that the light will be turning soon, but more importantly I realize the Supra wants to run. As we sit there revving slighty, the light turns, but neither of us go for it. He wants to go from a roll. Whatever.
"...Sleep with one eye open, grippin your pillow tight."
We leave the light gently, but with some sort of haste. As I reach about 4k rpm, I look over and see a grin from ear to ear on my competitor's face. He's gonna hit it.
"Hush little Supra, don't say a word, that just a big 16g you heard..."
I hear his exhaust note get louder and the *** begin to drop. Thank god I'm in my sweet spot.
BOOM the go pedal is firmly slammed to the floor. The boost gauge almost instantly reads 12psi, and the Supra and I are dead even. As I hit second, I lose traction for just a moment and I lose about a fender. Then the 245 Falken Ziex decide to grip. As another 12lbs is found, my wastegate cracks wide open and decides to scream. I gain back my fender, and put a bumper on him. Interesting...
Just after grabbing third, and hearing the wastegate open up, I decide we should shut it down. Not a good idea to go hauling *** around town now is it
I pull into a parking lot, and the Supra follows. He proceeds to tell me it's stock, but gives me BIG props on the Quest. I tell him my mods, but say that he'd definately have started walking in third due to my loooong gears.
We say our goodbye's and head on our merry ways.
I shall miss the Quest, but it's going into good hands. May it kill again

Actually, I've never taken creative writing, just formal writing in college.
I post alot on Honda-tech's kills forum, and they're natorious for being grammer ****'s, so I just kind of got good at it lol.
I actually copied and pasted it over here, hoping to make a good start in this kills forum, but it said piston engine battles need to be here lol
Thanks for the props
But I have to comment...27 views and only one reply???? Comeon, lets get some feedback...
*edit* I really like to have people feel like they are there, sitting shotgun with me. Just better to read.

Those Galant VR4's are beasts. They're a little heavier then their Eclipse bretheren, but god damn they make up for it by being such a sleeper.
First time I saw one I was like "wtf is that tard doing with his mom's car?" Then he busted a high 12. I was like :O

I am a giant Starquest fan. I love those cars so much. Nice job hanging with the Supra. Great story.
I am registered at Tristarion and post there from time to time.
More details about your car please. I am very interested in your fuel mods.
