My boss has had a lot of trouble with his Passat, considering it's 3 years old and how much it costs.
Take the Infinity coupe, get a manual. If she doesn't know how to drive stick, teach her. The Brembos alone are worth it

The g35c imo looks great! That luxury sporty coupe is pretty quick too (but it's not a sports car). It looks classier from the outside (and the name Infinity helps too I think), but I was disappointed when I got inside. Everything wreaked of cheap plastic. VW interiors are 10x better! And VW cars have that nice clean exterior german styling too.

VW was the worst, if not in the top 10 of the worst made cars last year
they arent made all that well. I know a woman my gf works with
had a engine replaced under warranty , and the worst part is they have no idea why and it took a month.

The VW reiliability problems are mostly small things like window regulators (all under recall). Most of the problems people have with VW is basically ******* shitty dealerships that have no clue how to work on them, and generally terrible customer service. I bought a VW because of the good warranty, nice styling, 189hp turbocharged engine, classy German interior, 17" wheels and sport suspension, traction control, LSD, Elec. diff lock, and overall build quality. Nothing else in my price range felt as nice, even the (and I hate saying this) MS Protege. VW's are good cars, though quirky.

Althought the Passat W8 seems like a very stylish, performance-oriented sedan.

I had alot of problems with the interior. Just didn't have the comfort of a sports car. Felt exactly like my 4runner. The speed wasn't that great. And the dealer kept saying how it could outrun and out handle every car out their. I was very let down by it.
When I went to the Lexus dealer he was also surprised I didn't like the car. I also hate the IS. it is basically what started the altezza light phase. However the seats, controls and style are more sports care like then the G35. The only thing that I like on the G35 is the outside of the car.

I test drove the G35 coupe this weekend with the 6-speed. It was an all right car. Not really that fast or great handling but that could be partially because I am used to the FD. I did like it alot more than the 350Z, it was alot better fit and finish and IMO the ride and power felt about the same. Not bad considering price is pretty close to the same also. Other cars I was interested in similar price range are the Jaguar X-Type with 5-speed and the Volvo S60R. That Volvo is a bit more expensive but is by far the best in its class.
