It is a very impressive vehicle, but 16 cyl, 7sp tranny, 4 turbos, and 4wd and that price it better be the greatest performing production car.

It's the fastest production car ever made while also being a luxury car. It doesn't need to be anything that it's not.

Projected fuel economy (C/D est):

Steady 253 mph: 3 mpg

I just love statistics like that ...

I wouldn't care much about the fuel economy at that speed, except that you're burning 84 gallons of gas an hour, and that's not exactly good.

Me either

I just wish I had a car that I could compute the fuel economy at 253 mph! like it's all normal, just a part of the regular EPA thing

The Bugatti Veyron is making it to production! And yes it's faster than a Mclaren f1 - in fact, give a macca a 10 second headstart and the Bugatti will still match it to 200mph. 60 in 2.5 seconds, 100 in 5, 200 in under 20 on to 252mph and they say its as easy to drive as a Bentley Is that a good thing or not?

987bhp (1001ps) is the official figure but that's a minimum figure - at the right temps apparently that rises up to over 1050bhp. The engine has no cover which is for cooling purposes - clearly a nod towards Volkswagens air cooled history .

What else.. oh yeah a quote from the journalist driving it: "I press the accelerator halfway to the floor in fourth at 45mph. The Veryon takes off like a 911 takes off when you dump the clutch at 7500rpm in first."

Someone on here was also questioning whether a manual gearbox could handle torque, well I just found one that can

I wish. I'm out of funds for that so work has slowed right down but I got some time off soon. The website is way out of date one way or the other - I'm gonna get on that.
