Lol. I know you all are laughing if you read the topic title..but seriously, at 1320engineering..we have what we call our "Project Boredom" which is one of our guy's GFs car. Its a regular '94 Eagle summit...2dr POS w/ 1.5L motor..5spd. Well, his GF wants to be into cars but cant afford a newer one, so she asked what we could do to hers...and low and behold...the mahem began. We took scraps of stuff we had laying around...the car instantly got gutted cats and catback using a ractive 4" tip muffler(left over from an mr2 years back..)...that didn't help much...then cone intake w/ blitz SS filter...still nothing...the car managed a 11.9 1/8th mile....

WELL...the NOS kit from Jon's old MR2 was sitting in the shop...so we put that on...w/ a 55 wet shot...11.6...watch out now..replaced the clutch w/ new one from autozone's "performance" catalog...HA...11.4 now..look what happens when drunken people w/ performance parts do! Ok..well next on the list was the only thing we could think of..TURBO. We got a brand new turbo from a galant vr4 for $150..cut the exhaust manifold and cut welded flanges on...slapped the tiny turbo on(i do mean tiny..this thing has like a 1.5" inlet!)...grabbed some PVC from the scrap pile, ran the intake up to the TB...no intercooler...no exhaust either... well, needless to say..the turbo worked, the intake piping however didnt and PSI leaked out long before it made it to the motor...so we're redoing that and the downpipe is being made and welded up as I type this...intake plumbing has been redone...and holds the PSI now...so we're good...

we will hopefully take it to the track this week and get this 1.5L econobox into the 10s in the 1/8th, BWWAHAHAAA...

Sorry for the long post, I can get pics if you guys want 'em. But before you start busting on me...keep in mind, we were drunk..VERY drunk when the idea came to our minds. Also, the 1.5L motor is worthless to us as we have a EVOVI motor waiting to be dropped in and we are actually going to build the car right...but for now, we're just having fun!

BTW..it can get up to 120MPH now...opposed to the 105MPH limit it had w/ NOS...

Hey...I took some pics tonight after we worked the kinks out...I'm tired as hell now and I'm going to look at an '88GXL for my GF tom...so I'll post pics then.

The intake plumbing works, we have a ghetto "BOV" now too..its actually a boost guage, bov and popoffvalve all in one...you'll see in the pics..

...we drove it around and after having alternator problems all week, everything is good now. I just got back from driving around in it. It's a lot quieter now that the exhaust is welded up...and it actually DOES push you in the seat a little...kind of cool consider we haven't spent over $250 yet..

The FWD config has caused a problem though..the shifter cable for 2nd, 4th and reverse keeps busting...so the fun is done for now...cant shift hard until we fix it. Peace out til tom...I'll show you the glimpse of "ghetto fab"...

BTW...the kit boost 6-6.5 psi...not bad when you consider how small the turbo is...
