Isn't that an engine out of a Buick Grand National?

Good eyes!

Yep!

a little lighter than a V8

a turbo V6 that seems to make some of those GN's pretty fricking fast!!!

Nice...

But I think the 3.8 turbo design is a bit dated though it makes the power... I like an engine that looks good as well as runs good... though I wont turn down and ugly engine that can give a whooping to someone that they wont soon forget!

I am kind of starting to like the idea of a 3.4 V8 Taurus Yamaha V8 in an RX7....

Though I am keeping my eyes open for shots of RX7 motor swaps.....

If I were to do a V8 swap into my 7, I'd try and find a aluminum block LS1 and a T-56 6 speed tranny. But that might be a bit pricey.

This guy is running mid / low 11s, and I think that the engine is stock.

Well I have seen that done... now ...

so I want something different...

also a 350 v8 is still going to be heavy...

so thats were the 3.4 SHO V8 comes in 235 hp stock and it LOVES to be supercharged! With the rev potential of the motor and a supercharger plus a slight weight gain not much for what it is man it would be nice!

You should go find yourself a $500 beater rx7 and do something like that. You'd surprise a lot of people, and **** a lot of people off. Then you can keep it ford powerd too!
