My friend Dave has a few proteges.. This one is a black parts car. You can see the toll salty roads in Ontario take on the chassis. We stripped most of the engine bay and cut half the front clip to gain garage space.

Ignore the mess, we were working fast, losing daylight.

Check it out - Interesting stuff learning how Mazda creates a rigid chassis while remaining light weight

First incision.. Which ended up being too close to a beefed up motor mount so we cut again more off to the side..

This thing cut ALOT faster than I expected.

Approx 5 minutes for one side.

In the end we gained about 2 feet of garage space in his garage.. And 2 feet makes a huge difference!

Next up will be the firewall, then continue on.

This chassis, thanks to rust, is FUBAR. So parts are removed, and the whole car has a date with a scrap bin, not a junk yard, thanks to the sawsall..

Colin wanted to see my old 89 GTU. I rolled it, and it was sitting on its roof for a few hours before the towtruck could flip it back over.
