Yup.. Vette will outlast the RX7 anyday the way you make it seem like you intend to flog it. Question for you man... Can you handle either of those cars man? I'm from a rich town and been around plenty of rich kids whose mommies and daddies bought them fast cars and last I checked the good majority of them wrapped them around trees, light poles, field goaled a guardrail 80 yards.. **** the list goes on... Do your parents a favor and get something to learn basic driving physics on.. I'm sick and ****** tired of seeing kids behind the wheel of **** they know goddamn well they can't handle.. Not only is it stupid for you to be driving, you endanger everyone else on the road when some punkass ricer pulls up next to you and you lose it at 140...

Actually edit change my mind... noticed your location... Take out as many old people as possible if you do wreck
I don't plan on killing many senior citizens only if they **** me off, and then I'll revv and run them over. Well I want to take a driving course , alot of my family in Trinidad race cars and stuff, not many of them dead maybe it runs in the family. The car is a regular c5. Right now my parents are figuring out if they'll get it for me. Thanks yall for the feedback.

The FD is a cooler car in every respect.

My coworker has been looking at C5's and Z06's for the last few months, the more I go with him on test drives and tire kicking sessions, the more I dislike the car.

Vettes are cheap fast, but it's still a GM, the build quality is eh, crappy, the paint has the surface of an orange peel. But I digress, they do scoot. The engine is pretty sweet for a pushrod v8. Every time I sit in one of these things I can't stop fidgeting with the cheap interior parts, the door handles never seem to recover to fully returned position, always hanging out just a bit more than they appear to be designed for. The center console feels like you're going to break it when you go to open it til you realize it's double hinged. When you open the hood it brings back memories of that other GM car, the fiero... with the flimsy fiberglass parts. It's just not my bag.

FD looks better, has different problems (the paint isnt such an orange peel, but the early models had it coming off in sheets!) but overall I find it to be a much cooler car. And when you're comparing two stock cars where one is NA and the other is boosted, the boosted car is usually the default choice. You will go faster for less with the boosted version, as long as you have some braincells to put to use when you turn up the boost.

When I see a corvette, I think mid-life crisis.

When I see an Rx7, I try and remember the last time I saw one, and realise it's been a long while...

:P
Oh my god, that may be one of the most intelligent posts ever! I see probably 100 C5's for every FD on the road, and that's not an exaggeration. Then again, where I live pushrod V8's are king, and I could only wish for other rotaries to cruise around with. The last 2 rotaries in my area; a sweet modded Tii FC, and a nice touring FD were both wrecked. Now my FD is all alone...... Anyway, I really believe one of the most satisfying things about owning an FD is that I don't see myself every 3 seconds on the road. You wouldn't believe how many turn their heads to my mostly stock FD. Besides C5's are more commonly associated with gray haired 50 year old men with 20 year old blonde chicks in the passenger seat. Which I guess is cool...

^Yeah, the Camaros are always looking for a fight, whereas the Vettes know their place among the sport car hierarchy- Which would make a Vette all the sweeter to list as a kill in my book!! God, I can't wait!!!!

But yeah seriously:C5 Vette- eh, who cares?

C5 Z06 Vette- maybe a raised eyebrow... maybe...

Brand new C6 Vette-Sweet, oh wait.... it's just a C5 with flush headlights, and a few barely noticeable differences... They should blend in with the rest of the C5s within weeks of their release, as they will no doubt be gobbled up by midlife crisis old men who still think they're young. Sorry Chevy, I'm still not impressed, you're gonna need to do more than change the headlights to get my attention. You'd think the release of a new Vette generation would spark the imagination of some of the greatest automotive engineers out there, which would create something new, fresh, and mindblowing.. Guess not.. Anyone else feel this way????

Guess which car my dad likes to drive more?

He has a slightly modded FD and its faster than his C-5. He gets more looks and comments from people in his FD than in his C-5 because quite honestly nothing says follow the masses or he has no imagination more than a C-5.

An FD says "yeah he knows his cars, he is a true conesuer (SP?) of sports cars."

He is also killing lots of cars ont he road from older Cobra Mustangs to M-3's. He loves that FD and curses me all the time for introducing him to Rotary power. He is as addicted as I am.

id go with the FD, youd probably ne the only one at your shcool with either one, and the vette has a more "yeah my parents bought me this" aura about it. (couldnt think of a better word) but outside of school driving ont he road the vette will blend in better with everything, which has good and bad parts to it. and performance wise, i havent driven either, but if given a choice i would get an fd.
