Because it's AWD it should have two diffs, I'd imagine that they would have to both be hooked up through the transmission or one set of wheels would simply be direct drive.

Ok i understand the transmission bit, but how does the differential operate(like on a clutch system)and not move with the engine's crankshaft all the time?
Is their something special about the Veyron than any other car's differential? I mean the only thing a differential does is when one tire losses traction (meaning that axle shaft is spinning faster than the other one) it differentiates the power (meaning that it cuts power to the faster side) until everything is hunkie dorie.

I'll let you know when mine comes in. As soon as I get it home I'll be taking the engine out to replace those baby dick turbos. I'm shooting for 2000hp. Wish me luck.

2000? Don't you think that is a little conservative?

Yeah, that's like only getting 510 out of an FD. Hell, you have 16 cylinders to work with, here! (prototype was 18)

I still stand behind my idea about the diff/transfer case.

I looked at some pictures the other day, and Id say your are right. It would have to in order to work. Plus in the picture with the tranny mounted to the engine, the whole thing is a monstrosity, there is a ton of crap below the engine block.

Well, if you can afford that car then any associated costs will be of no consequence. With that car, a $20k service charge will be nothing to the owner.

I just would love to see the first one that an owner wants to turn up the wick and make over 2k horsepower. Deep pockets? You bet. Internet legend overnight? Ya sure, ya betcha. Put more than 1000 miles on it in a year? Who cares?
