K, I think I'm becoming an old fart. But something in me wants to splurge on a Beemer.

Got a ride in my friend's I6 91 3-series convert...and I was looking up the old style M3's but they only have 4-cylanders ( @ 200hp? ).

I don't know BMW's all that much, but I do know the M3 is the "sports" Bmw, while the 3 series is the cheapest....then coming a better looking 5 series and super luxo 7 series.

Anyways, I really don't like the mid-90's models...so I was wondering what would be the fastest/funnest BMW (considering I'd probably stay pre-93). How does the first M3 (e30?) compare in handling/power and luxury/seating?

I doubt I'll do it...but I wanted to hear from some BMW-fanatics...if there is any...here...lol.

theres an E30 M3 with a 13B in it thats in the netherlands. the earley E30s were awsome. theres a TON of swaps that people do for them, ome put the E36 I6 in there, and others put a later V8 in it.

E30s are badass if you can find one in decent shape.. My friend has an old 735i and its pretty comfy for an '85... Its smooth as hell and pretty good pickup too
