No they're A6's over here, but you're right they are quite popular - not my cup of tea though. S is to Audi as M is to BMW (although personally I'd prefer an M to an S anyday ). Also the Audi in Ronin was an old S4 (great film BTW - lovely M5 in there).

Sort of like the F&F crowd with the Evo.

my dad had an a6 2.7t, automatic though. it was a nice car, he had no trouble at all with it (it had around 15-20k on it), he ended up trading it for an a4 1.8t stick fwd, the a6 was too fancy for him.
just make sure that you dont keep it too long out of warranty, its a an audi so the vw misery gets a bigger bill.
chip it and have the muffler replaced with a peice of pipe, a couple friends did that with the s4's and they would do 13 flat quarter mile runs with em

Bottom line: The wife likes it, so we'll be keeping it.

I have no idea what its like there. But here every ******* has a BMW. They are a status symbol sort of like the H-2. I like the M-3 and M-5 a lot but its just hard to swallow the whole "yuppie" fascination with them.

Well we have had it a week now and took it on a road trip to see my parents on Sunday.
Around town it feels sturdy and smooth it corners well but I have not really pushed its envelopes yet.
On the open highway it is a dream. Quiet and smooth and powerful. I had a newer Mercury Cougar v-6 tailing me in some traffic, basically annoying me, so when the traffic cleared ahead, I checked to make sure the wife was napping and she was, I downshifter to 5th and punched it you could feel the turbos surge and the car pulled very hard I shifted back to sixth looked down 130 like it was nothing smooth and quiet. Looked in rearview Cougar was way back there making up ground for a fly bye. Like I expected he would.
Sweet *** car I am very impressed with it. I really think I should chip it just to make it really interesting.
