My cousin just got a 1993 Jeep wrangler and we want to change the rears, but we have been told we have to change the entire rear we cant just open it and change the gears, is this true?

you can change the guts, but what is the reason for changing?

were putting a lift and bigger tires on it and we wanna help out the 4cyl till he can change it to an 8
