It's an abomination. Abhorrent. V8s in 7s are WRONG!
20mpg? Yeah, right, downhill with a tailwind maybe.
Near 50/50 weight distribution? Uh huh with an LT1, OK.
I wish I had the money to buy it and put a rotary back in it like it should be.

even though it is an auto it would kill me any day of the week. I bet it oculd even kill my brother's 383 stoker Nova. FI V8 LT1 is a killer combo. And with how light that car is if it could get traction it would absolutely kill on the 1/4!

No it would not kill your brothers stroker. Even though I have read very many articles on this because it was a swap that I was seriously considering. Weight distribution is really not affected. Not anymore than me putting a 50-80lbs of turbo equipment in my engine bay.
Put a V8 up front, and a ford 8.8" in the back then you are pretty much back to 50/50.
I used to get 25-30mpg on my LT1. Partly because I could sit at basically an idle cruising on the freeway.
I agree though, I would never own a rx7 w/ a v8 if I did not have one with a rotary already.
