Hydrogen is great,, it just dosen't occur naturally,, you have to make it. You use electricity to make it. Electricity comes from mostly fossil fuels. Essentually you are still burning gas when you use hydrogen.

Think of an engine, fueled by hydrogen, powering a generator, using electrolisis to make hydrogen to fuel the engine. (just add water)

sorry dosen't work

Oh dont forget about solar power thats free and clean too. and dont forget the dams. they make clean power also. So not all electricity is dirty. thats just narrow minded

Ok lets say right now it doesnt work. Does that mean it will never work someday? Or like the sound barrier it cant be broken. said like 60 years ago.

Well maybe it did work! And people that came forward got killed for it. You said it wont work period. as in ever? thats just narrow minded. Its people like you back 108 years ago that said people cant fly. If they Listened we would have never tryed i guess. and we would have never invented the airplane.

we can use yappy dogs, horses and all the ex-wives we can scrounge up.

I would love to run my car on yappy dogs.

If hydrogen is 50 cents a gallon thats good enough for me but like ethanol it takes more fossil fuel to make then it burns. Solution? Nuclear power!

Everyone has their opinions. Fall out has got everyone in a scare so I don't think thats gonna happen any time soon.

A lot of the taxis and buses around here are running on natural gas now. No more of that gross bus smoke. wonder how that stuff does. Anyone know about it?

And there is no global warming epidemic. We have not brought Armageddon upon ourselves. Yes, Los Angeles air does burn my eyes but we are not going to fry ourselves due to burning fossil fuels. I wish people would stop freaking out about that and spending so much of MY tax dollars on it. We could improve our quality of life with cleaner air but America really isn't the problem.

meh politics.

I goofed big time. the link didnt come through for the whole reason i posted this thread. not sure why it didnt show. but this is the real reason i posted

Roy Mcalister of Arizona..... Been using Hydrogen for 45 years..

On you tube "Engine Fundamentals" #1-#10 I posted the First part. you need to watch all ten.. they are all listed on youtube Under Engine Fundamentals.. the first few videos are more Info than flashy test drives or Equipment testing. thats on the ending videos

http://youtube.com/watch?v=hFifFR-4C28 must watch

Al Gore's Gulf Stream 10 burns more gas in a month than any average american will in their whole life. **** Al Gore and all the fake *** politicians who cry cover up. You want to help? Stop flying...

Yeah its a crying shame all the B.S here in the states. **** both party's in the goat ***. There all a bunch of lying douche bags out for there own glory and money.

I did a lot of research 2 years ago about hydrogen. Hell I made it in my kitchen with a power supply, baking soda, water and steel wool. Be verrrry careful what metals you use here as the wrong ones will make some of the nastiest chemicals on the planet!! My girl friend at the time FREAKED OUT when I was igniting the bubbles!! Thought I had made a hydrogen bomb and was going to set it off in the kitchen!! Ha Ha, great X memory!

Problem with using it as a "combustion enhancer" is the hydrogen burns too fast. So you get a small detonation igniting the gasoline for a better burn and using up too much O2, not to mention all the internals need a ceramic coating or the hydrogen will seep into the metal making it extremely brittle. Broken apex seals you say? pfffft try rotor and housings!!! Trying to time a pure hydrogen engine is a real task but definitely possible. There was a guy here in the NW who used a modified plasma cutter to power his F150, only problem was getting the "supply and demand" thing ironed out, it hauled *** WOT but I think he gave up.

I am with you 100% hydrogen is a better way to go as far as fuel is concerned. Solar power makes it for free (almost) and that knowledge has been put on the back burner for too long.

Although it doesn't apply to our engines per say... What are all the tree-hugger's opinions on converting diesel engines to run on vegetable oil? Being a commuter and having kids has opened my eyes a little bit towards more efficient vehicles, but mainly as a way of saving money on the cost of travel (although if it is actually saving the planet for my children then that is cool also).

I think the government also requires the hybrid vehicles to look ugly as sin to deter people from buying them LOL!

There are many ways to make engines that run on gasoline more efficient, but more efficient engines mean less money in oil companies pockets. As usual it comes down to the mighty dollar.

This is off topic but I always wondered why Mazda didn't design the rotary engine as a direct-injection engine. I know it would be more complex than what I have in my mind, but wouldn't it be possible to have an injector in place of the trailing spark plug and just amplify the ignition system?

It is not hard to time an engine running on Hydrogen. its almost top dead center... That gives way more power and less heat get more for you money, BTW Hydrogen is good for use with Methane . I never did like the idea of burning Hydrogen with the gas idea. i see it all the time. Hydrogen cells pumping into the intake of cars burning gas. They are just not ment to burn together. The hydrogen with gas does not really make the burn a hydrogen Event. the hydrogen is gone long before the power stroke
