Well I got sick of the rubber cap I was using to plug the water line behind my T stat cracking and leaking every other month. So I decided to braze it up. You know where this is going right.? I made a heat shield for the harness and for the water sensor for the ecu. Brought in the heat and brazed over the line., what the hell is burning down there? I forgot to shield the oil lines to the omp and apparently now I have one melted mega line, which may sound cool, but I dont think its going to work that well. Anyways I hoping some one can bail me out. I think I need a set of S-5 turbo oil lines. all four. Unless some one know for a fact what interchanges, I believe I used the s-5 lines that came with the motor and just plugged them into the s-4 oil pump If you got some collecting dust let me know.

Thanks

could that line have been tapped and then plugged while using some jb weld on the threads of the plug? Like they say, hindsight is 20/20. Hope you can get a fix soon. Maybe look into getting some SS lines. When I broke OMP lines I just matched up some line from the local hardware store. They got some clear orange colored tubing that is actually for high temp and is designed for 2 stroke. I got the line that was just about the right size (little smaller) lubed the ends, forced them on, and then used a small zip tie for extra insurance.

if worse comes to worse new lines are about 25 bucks each from mazda. Might be an opertune time to start premixing though!

Yea thats the other side of the coin, I just might go down that road. It has been nice not having to think about throwing in the oil every time I fill it up.

I think I going to hit up a couple of hardwares first, see i can splice together something.

Yeah its the amazing the difference premixing makes. I noticed it alot on engine teardowns.

Like in a good way. Or in a bad way. I dont have any experience with premixing or the after effects. Please elaborate.

Thanks

Thanks guys,

I decided to go the premix route for now. I found the metric bolts to plug the holes, and made a plate to cover the outlet on the front cover. So i pretty spent half the day tearing it down, plugging the holes and putting it back together. btw the butt dyno says about 25 hp worth!

Matt must have got back to you about why he prefers premix. When I talked to Matt about why he prefers it he said because the housings and rotors are A LOT cleaner when running premix then just using the OMP. After a few times of pre-mixing it gets to be a habbit. Premixing gives the housings a lot more even lubrication than the OMP does, and besides 2 stroke was specifically designed to lubricate as it burns.
