The park has been reserved and plans for the BBQ are underway. Initially July 18th was available but by the time I found someone who lived in Renton (I saved $50 by having a resident with me) that date was taken and the next available date was August 18th.



The BBQ will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 18th and will last until dusk. To offset some of the expense we are asking people to donate what they can afford. Anything above the actual cost of the BBQ will be put in a fund for the next event.



I want to have some fun contests and already have a spandex contest and the winners will be a part of a calendar we are going to make. Any other ideas would be appreciated. I want to stay away from "best looking car," etc.



If you plan on being there let me know so I can get an idea of how much food we will need.

I know you all were looking forward to seeing us in all our spandex glory, but we will not be able to make it. We will be out of town to celebrate Grandparents 60th wedding anniversary. Have a great time and see you all the the BBQ in Federal Way.

I will bring some corn on the cob and veggie squers to grill up, and candy make's a killer shrimp salad.

Let me know, but I do have a schedule conflict as we are also going to be at the SCCA Double Nationals @ Pacific Raceway, that weekend. You guys are all a riot, all I have to do is read the forum for a laugh when I need one. It will be nice to actually meet some of the famous or infamous who attend. We will have to do something another time for those who can't make it. AND those of you who say you're wearing spandex better show up wearing it! It's not nice to tease.



On a more serious note, thank you everyone who has responded and those of you who have offered to help. If anyone can come up with some other ideas other than the spandex contest, fire away. I really want to stay away from car related contests because in my humble opinion, it boils down to who can afford to do the custom work to their car.

Well - seeing as how Matt and I live in Renton and all I wish we could go. BUT we most likely will still be in Idaho. It is our 10th anniversary and we, along with our daughter are going to visit some friends, Yellowstone and just take a fun road trip. Figure that something finally happens in our neck of the woods and we are going to be out of town. LOL. And to think, the FD in all its untuned glory could probably make it down there.

^I will bring a friend to drive your FD... O wait... nevermind I wouldn't trust any of them with RWD. So here's what I'll do: Drop off MY FD at the park, walk to your house or get a ride (I'm sure it won't be hard when I'm in spandex), then drive your FD there so everyone can see it in all its untuned glory! Then do the same to bring it back! Don't worry I'm a good driver =)

Unfortunately my life went to hell in a handbasket almost overnight with a psychotic now ex boyfriend. I have been a little preoccupied with just a few things like having to find a new place to live, restraining orders and just a wee bit of drama. But (knock on wood) my life seems to be somewhat back under control. I was having another one of those senior blonde moments (kiss my butt Tim) and missed the second page of the posts on this thread. Had I been able to see into the future and known what was going to happen, I would have done things differently - I still would be planning the BBQ but would have tried to outevil the ex. Needless to say, hindsight is always 20/20. Don't worry, I work better with deadlines and the closer the become, the more I work I get done. There will be food and somehow some way I will pull this rabbit out of my hat.



I am also planning a party at my house next Saturday, since I have to leave it doesn't mean I have to go quietly!
