I just picked up a 1987 Volvo 760 TURBO wagon (RWD baby!) with the 3rd seat. Car has 176k on it. Besides a minor ding that can be paintlessly removed the car is in pristene condition. Runs great too! Pics to come as soon as there is some daylight. All I need to do for it is get the bulb out relay, and the turbo oil drain o-ring (only leak on the car and very minor at that). Who said a family car can't be fun lol!

I recently sold my '93 940 turbo wagon. The car was great fun to drive, and a very comfortable highway cruiser. Didn't corner half bad either. It absolutely embarrassed the '01 Subaru Outback (an utterly crappy car--underpowered, with lots of body roll) it replaced. I miss the Volvo, but ultimately, it just wasn't big enough.

Oh yea! Brick power baby. Robert your gonna love that car. Go to ipdusa.com for parts and tech advice, they also have a free classified section. I wish I could of keep my T-5 wagon, just not enough parking space. Be sure to bring it to the next meet. Maybe we can get some more converts.

I am loving the car. it is loaded! I am going to see how much paintless dent removal is to take care of the dents it has on the driver rear door and on the driver rear quarter panel. There is no scratches, fade, crease, or paint chipping in the dented areas so hopefully it could be done cheap and easy. I am not sure if the AC works yet (think it does, but don't need AC at the moment). It even has heated seats that work lol! The vehicle has been well maintained, the turbo was just inspected and is in near perfect condition. Just got to replace the turbo oil drain tube o-ring and the minor oil leak will be gone. I got to fiond out what I can do with the exhaust and what fuel hacks/mods I can do before I take care of the exhaust. Being RWD kicks *** though, only thing that could make it better would be a 5spd.

Thanks for the resources. Looks like I will have to be getting at least a muffler (you can tell I am broken up about it lol). The existing muffler is cracked and the inlet pipe is broken off (sits inside muffler but leaks). I got the o-ring and gasket ordered for the turbo oil drain tube. I also ordered a K&N for it. Probably do the airbox mod to get more and colder air into the engine. I plan on keeping it essentially stock and with the income right now that wont be a problem. I would like to install a BOV just to crack people up when they get smoked by a wagon lol!

I am having problems finding out safe exhaust upgrade options and intake mods. I have not been able to find out if it would be safe for the stock efi system to go with larger exhaust or intake. I keep reading about people installing complete 3" or 2.5" systems with high flow (or no) cat but none of them mention anything about having to do fuel mods with the exhaust upgrades. Anyone know? From what I could find it appears that no upgrade chip was offered for the 1987 740 (besides the bogus ebay mods). Right now I need to at least do the muffler but I would like to know what my "safe" (ie not having to worry about detonating) exhaust options could be. I got a good resource for exhaust so if I am able to go either 3" or 2.5" complete I could have it done cheap as long as I had the correct downpipe flange for either size.
