Have you thought about cermet coating? I assume you have a pair of knackered housings now?

Exactly, there is a guy parting out an FD motor on craigslist, one good housing for $50. I saw that this morning. I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a difference between S5 and S6 housings. I think the exhaust ports are different. That means I'd have to port them to get them the same. Also I know the the plugs in the S5 are located in different positions then the s4 cause of the knock sensor. Is the S6 the same as the S5? |
I believe the dowel pins are different. I think that is why z-beater specifically needs an FD or cosmo 2 rotor intermediate housing.
|
If someone has a T2 housing they are more than welcome to come down to my place and compare. Mine are sitting on my bench at the moment.
I did need the Cosmo or REW Center iron though. There was a difference in the dowel bin location according to Pineapple. Let me know if someone is interested. |

the s5 and FD housings are quite similar, however the FD housing does not have the cooelnt passage for hte stock turbo.... on the birght side you only need 1 housing with that coolent passage. u can swap between rear and front no problem. , the ehxuast port might be very slightly diff size
they also have hte knock sensor in the same spot the main housing differences are between s4 and s5 which have the spark plugs different spaces away from each other |
ask for a bunch of close pics of the housing, because as you all know ones idea of " good" in housings can very quite drasticly
|
Post is gone from CL... :( fawk what to do what to do... I might send them oft to JHB and have them redone in cermet. what do you guys think? http://www.jhbperformance.com/
|
are they both bad??
