For all you gals on here who have been wanting to try autocross and have been waiting for the perfect event, well here it is. This is a really fun laid, back event with instruction and lots of opportunity to co-drive and learn from eachother (we have some national champions around here you know) and tons and tons of seat time. Maybe more than you'd get in a whole season of just running events.

And to make it even sweeter, we don't have to work, the guys have volunteered to be course workers for us for the whole day to make sure we get lots of seat time and to support the women in racing (that is if we can get enough of them there). And if any of you guys want to work and get some runs at lunch and the end of the day, you are more than welcome as well. So here's the details.

Date: Saturday, August 4

Location: Boeing Everett West (directions can be found here http://www.wwscc.org/)

Registration and Tech: 8:00 - 8:30 (be on time)

Drivers Meeting: 8:45

Driving 9:00 - 12:00

12 - 1 - volunteers run

Driving 1 - 4 or maybe earlier if we just can't drive any more.

4:00 pm - volunteers run

5:00 pm - tear down

Hope to see some of you out there and if you have any questions or want to caravan up from the south end let me know.

Yes, no membership with any club is required. Part of the reason for this event is to get news gals to come out and try the sport and not have to worry about machismo from the guys. Although that is very rare in the sport, it's still hard to coerce and convince gals to come out, but once they do, just like the guys they get hooked (and tend to get more interested in cars too). A lot of our great driver's here in the northwest did this as their very first event.

This would be a great event for her to attend.

I'm really proud of all the guys out there supporting us in this too. Thanks guys for making this a sport that we all feel comfortable participating in!!

And guys, if you want your gals to get into cars, have them come out to this event and have some fun in their car (or yours). It makes a world of difference.
