flywheel and clutch c/o
#1
Well my aluminum flywheel and clutch finally came in. Never order from the RX7 Store.net if you want your stuff in less than 3 weeks. Ugh. So the flywheel weighs like 10 pounds and the clutch is a street strip set up its from spec clutch its their stage 1 setup. It came with a throw out bearing, pilot bearing. and alignment tool. Not a bad setup. its 250 for the clutch kit and 265 for the flywheel btw its a T2 setup, so na stuff is bit cheaper. Anyways here the pics. I did the c/o at my moms place, her husband has a drive on lift, hella cool.
P.S. Cant do a complete clutch change with out throwing on a O.E. RX8 shift ****.

so is the clutch disc full surface or a 6/4 puck variety?
Yes sir, a full surface, with the fancy springs built in, Now, I wont look and sound like a newbie when I pull out.
Oh yea, I ended up dremeling out the pilot bearing, no oxygen left in the torch kit.

Autoxing it allready? What about 300 mile break in so that the serfaces break in and you properly bed in the metal and crap? Tell me you broke it in. Cause if you didn't it would've held stronger... Oh yea that flywheel is SEXY!!! Damn you why you gotta keep one upping me. You one upper!!

I figure they just say that so they don't have to warranty their stuff.
However there is only one shift in autocrossing and no launching like drag racing. It probably had about 150 miles on it by the time it drove back from Chris's Moms and then up to Everett for the event. I'll be driving it all week to work so it can get broken in better before drivers school where it will get lots of driving in. And so I can get used to it and rock it out there on course

I put about 150 miles on it before autocrossing. Like M said there is just a quick short shift into second. Probably should of put some more miles on it. Funny it takes 300 miles to bed in a clutch, and only 5 minutes to bed in new track brakes.
Jeb it feels great, I was a little worried about starting from a stop, but its not even an issue, I think the car is lite enough to not cause a problem. Definately notice pulling out of the corners. And of course it revs incredibly fast in nuetral.
See ya at the school.
