HAHAH, yeah went really smooth. I was shocked how easy it came apart. As I suspected there was a water problem and it also looks to have been rebuilt.

There was a crack in the center housing were the water runs through the jacket.

I do not know how extensive I am going to go with this rebuild. There will be NO porting that is going to happen that is why I got such a large turbo. I might get some 2 piece seals but I also want to check the clearance on the ones that I have now. I might just re-use those depending. I would also like to get a cosmo center plate because it had a larger port. This is the downfall of the REW. So if anyone knows or one let me know

DONT REUSE APEX SEALS!!! you spent to much money and time doing your setup "right" to cut a corner at the last minute.... those used ones might be crappy brand or you never know what kind of abuse the old dirver might of put on them

I am pretty sure that no aftermarket companies made a 3 piece seal so it would be safe to say that he has mazda seals. I would agree that it would be wise to go with a 2 piece seal. It is a matter of time and money, and what apex seals to go with.

well you cant get 3 piece seals anymore, so your down to one pice or two pice, and I wouldnt reccomend the one piece. I thought you might have cracked the coolant seal groove, z. Just get a new cast iron, a rebuild kit and apex seals, and slap her back together

you snatched that motor right before I offered to paypal the guy for it. For $50 for a TII engine I figure it had to have at least $50 worth of good parts in it still. Good snag!
