The bmw club is having a dyno day at Carb Connection in Kirkland. I am leaving my house at 9 or so. I going to throw the 7 up on the rollers again. Last time I went in October with the same folks, pretty good time, car enthuisast just like us. If you would like to hang out for a bit I may have a free seat, or you could drive your car up there as well. Depending on fall off there may be a spot open. Cost is 75. I believe they have two different dynos in ground there. I was on a dynojet last time which is what we will most likely use again. I have a new bigger intercooler to try out.

They have a brand new dynojet AWD dyno that should be completely installed now. Just received it last month. My buddy's IS is down there being tuned so I may come say hello in my SHO. I need to talk to Alex about the IS...

I saw the black IS in the parking, how come you didn't swing by.

Big numbers of the day black 300ZX tt 15 psi on stock turbos hit like 360 and 410. I think that beats a lot of FD for stock twins, only had a piggy back S-AFC Low numbers of the day late model ford probe, header with straight exhaust split to two resonators, cai, and a massive 95rwhp at 6500 rpm loudest car I have ever heard on a dyno before. New bimmer 335ci straight six with small twins I believe, stock as a rock hit 275 and 280 or so. Stock Srt4 with cat back 223 and 230 New body style STI stock as a rock hit 245, didn't catch the torque. And the only guy representing rotary power hit 244 and 218 at 8 psi. on my 5th run. The dyno guys really dont like rotaries. Couldn't get a clean rpm signal, and I left a little oil on the dyno for him as well. Ran it up to 8K each time, and the power dropped off as the boost dropped off. So it still needs a little boost control tweaking.

Dyno sheet. boost spiked to 9.7 down low and was at 8 psi flat when I hit 244 around 6500.

I did swing by, but I wasnt able to get down there until almost 2:30!! So I missed most of the action, but I did check out that turbocharged S2K up front and got an update on the IS.

Yes indeed the S2000 had a nice setup, also did you see the hemi charger thing getting the super charger. Oh yea almost forget the old red M6 the red shark which is a local BMW legend. Cool to see that up close. I left at 1:00 pm I think there might of been one or two cars left at that point.

Yeah there was still a car on the dyno when I was there and 2 or 3 BMWs still out back. Caught a glimpse of the Hemi but didn't check it out. The BMW was hard to miss! You missed the 800hp and 1000lb/ft torque Viper that was there last time I was! 15psi supercharger and they were adding a 150shot of nitrous! Has HRE wheels with 355/40/19s on the back!! Also a 350z twin turbo that was super clean. Hate 350z's but that one was nice.

Nice numbers woundup. Can't believe I missed the M6 - man I love those - he's been in a lot of magazines lately. Glad you had fun. Sounds like there were some cool cars there.

what do they figure for drivetrain +parasitic loss on the dyno, 25%? If you're hitting 245 rwhp, is that close to 300 engine bhp?

Ha Ha, maybe 25% if I had a ford rearend. Probably right at 15% for the T2 drivetrain. I don't know if there is some kind of K factor for a dyno, if so its probably recalulated in to the final number for you.
