This might not be for what most people are thinking, but... My dad and I are finally building up the El. Were going to put in a...

Type: 5.3L V-8 Small Block

Displacement: 5328 cc (325 ci)

Compression ratio: 9.5:1

Bore x stroke: 3.90" x 3.62"

Fuel system: sequential fuel injection

Rev Limit: 6000 rpm

Block: cast iron

To elminate that stupid problem all LS1 motors had. Were going to slap on a 4 barrel carb. This engine will also come with a rebuilt 5 speed trans. After were all set up were working more on suspension then engine internals.

My car on the other hand will be sitting around for lot longer than i thought. I'll be helping my dad pay for the parts for the El.

El= El camino. Glad to hear you are not going the standard 350 route. The 5.3L is an awesome engine. Also props for ditching the V6 and also going FI. You sticking with a stock EFI setup and just running the factory harness or are you thinking about standalone (megasquirt?).
