so me and a few friends went up to camp on the cascades. we are drinking having a good time. my 2 friends think it will be wise to go hop in the truck and go get some firewood.i tell em lets just go hike and get some, drivings only bad news. long story short, my friend driving pulls away from the pile of old sticks and logs and the other friend hops on the side of the truck via the oh **** handle and sidestep, we proceed to go and my friend looses his grip of the truck and falls face first into the dirt while we are moving. i jump out of the moving truck and my friend driving does the same. a 2003 dodge ram hemi procedes pilot-less into a ditch on the side of the mountian. i get to my friend and he is face down lifeless. im screaming and freaking out at the top of my lungs. i flipped him over and my heart stopped. the entire side of his face from eyebrow to the back of his head was a giant laceration, i could see his skull, his ear was slicede in half and he was struggling for breath. i ripped my sweater and shirt off to wrap his head, he was bleading BAD...... i, in a panic ran back and started scrambling for my cellphone in the truck while my other friend stayed with him. i found one cell and called 911 immediatley. BAM the phone dies. so i am just in a blind rage right now. i keep digging and FINALLY find the other cell. as soon as i found it my friend ran full sprint into the next town (about 3 miles) to get help. 20 mins later he arrives with help.

my friends head had stopped bleeding profusely, medics arrived and he was responding to me, he was pretty drunk and i could tell his drunken slur. he was flown out to harborview and proceeded totgo into surgery to remove skul fragments from his brain.

im COVERD in blood. literally. the cops arrive and start interrogating me like im a ******* criminal, meanwhile they impound the truck take the driver to jail for get this, vehicular assault.......some pure BS.

the cops leave me stranded with 200 lbs worth of gear and no truck. im furious, they wouldnt even give me a ride into town to the jail. i plan on letting the news know about that BS

so i am forced to ditch half my gear and hike back into town with only gear that was important or to expensive to just leave in the woods.

i sit in front of a gas station for 9 hours waiting for a ride home. THANKS AGAIN, you know who you are.

this was a real wake up call for me, i dont think i will be drinking anymore after almost having my best friend die in my arms. so be safe people and dont take ANYTHING for granted, cause it could be gone before you know it.

Wow please don't tell me Ryan got hurt Greg. Or was Ryan driving????

Drinking/driving is just not worth all the troubles that it causes in our lives.
