Hey Everyone,

If you are in Renton on Sunday you should stop by REnton River Days and check out the BMWCCA Concours at Cedar River Park. There will be over 200 cars, bikes and Minis spanning 7 decades on display and for judging. The feature car this year is the E36 M3.

We will be there with both the cars in the judged class. Stop by and say hi if you can.

I will be furiously cleaning and polishing over the next couple of days

Are you going to drive them to the event or trailer them. All that hard work will need to be touched up once you get there.

We have to drive - luckily it's not too far away. Pray that it doesn't rain. I'll have a nice little kit of touch up stuff. Most folks will be driving in except the full on rain cars, so we'll be in good company.

I'm falling in love with my car all over again now that she's so pretty and shiny.

Oops posting as Chris

Wow, what a fun day. Turnout was lower than usual ~150 cars, I'm guessing because of the rain. We did have a few folks come up from Portland and down from BC. Last year there were a bunch of old bikes but only one this year, oh well.

Lots of cool cars including a twin turbo 91 850 V12, putting out about 550 rwhp, and a 70 something 2002 with the Dinan built 4.6L V8, M5 suspension, etc, etc. Plus some of my favorites including the 3.0 CS's and E30 M3s. I haven't uploaded all the photos yet, but will post some up here when I get them together. You can find some on the local club site at http://www.bmwpugetsound.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=35127

After many long, grueling days of detailing (i went through about 600 Qtips ) the 540 took second place in it's class (7 cars judged, about 15 on display)- I'm sure it had the highest mileage of the group too and despite it's second place, I know that it had a huge transformation looks amazing again (except all those rock chips). No more scratches or swirl marks though. They actually do a white glove test in the engine bay and poke around underneath all the parts, oops, missed some stuff there. I'll get the score sheets so it can do better next year.

The MCoupe took 1st in it's class and also, drumroll please, best of show!!! I'm absolutly shocked as we beat out some folks who had been winning consistently over the last couple years who never drive their cars. So our car will be on the cover of the next edition of Zundfoldge (the club mag) and also, this is super exciting, we will be the pace car for the PRO 3 races this Sunday at Pacific Raceways. So all the polishing out waterspots in the door jambs was worth it I guess.

The event photographer took some pretty cool shots of the two cars and I'll post those when I get them. Maybe one day we can have a rotary event like this....

Absolutely awesome day. I was starting to think Michelle was living in the garage as I hardly saw her at all last week. She definately has a knack for detailing, I think we got more compliments on the 540 than the M coupe. I was so happy for her when her Daily Driver took second place in class. My jaw dropped though when the M coupe received best in show It beat out some exceptionally clean cars.

Michelle busted her butt to win those trophies, thats why she's copiloting the pace car and I will be in the stands taking lot of pics, WAY TO GO HON.!!!
