I found this up north on CL. It is clean with a sweet paint job ( origionaly factory black). Opening the doors and hatch you would never know its not the factory paint. The paint looks gerat too, no orange peel in sight, and a pro masking job to boot.

Am I crazy for spending 7k on it?

It fires up cold-nice and smooth and has a RB exaust kit.

Thanks guys.

I am defanatly getting the motor tested by someone who has the propper tester. And giving it a good shake down 1st, if that thing isent on the mark i am walking away. He said Atkins did the rebuild for him a few years back, 9k ago.

Yeah that box is cool, he custom made that from fiberglass, along with the door speakers.

It is nice, I just would not spend that much on that car. It just does not really stick out to me.

Take the money that you would have put into that car and get your 79 running with a few suspension mods. That is what I would do.

I think I'm with Z on this one. Maybe even spend the money on a 10th anniversary. They seem to have more collector value.

Also, what the hell is the weird word in this statement? "THIS CAR WILL NOT BE SOLD TO ANYONE THAT CAN'T APPRSCATS IT OR UNDER THE AGE OF 30!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Thats nice looking. It says he's "asking 7 grand for it," so thats the top of the spectrum. If you really want it, show up with 5000 cash, and see what happens.

Yeah, my 79 could use the parts. I also have a 2nd yellow 79 now that's 5X cleaner than the 1st one. I picked it up 2 months ago for $1,000, thinking that one is going to stay stock and the outher one (actually newer, it's 106 more on the vin#), along with the 88 gxl will get sold. Might even sell the repu.

Ha Ha Ha----he spells like me! His deal with that was this. All these kids where calling him saying they wanting to drift/race it, and had cash in hand. he said " I have put WAY too much time and money into this car to let some punk *** tear it up"

I know its a premium price for this car. He was asking 5500 at 1st then raised it to 7 from all the offers he got. Mazda trix wanted it for 7k, he just couldent sell to a person he never met.

I will be driving it to the mazda dealer monday (pre sale) and check compression. Not to mention the dealer is 50 miles away, so thats a 100mile test drive.

He ment "appreciate" when I looked at this car i felt like I was on a job interview! He reeeely cared for this car and wont sell it to someone that he feels wont respect and appreciate it. Thats allways a good sighn about how it was treated.

He loved me, he could tell I knew about rotarys and would treat it right.

He has had the same offers as mine, but chose me.

Deal's off!!

He told me he would hold it for me till the money cleared my account. I felt somthing wierd with the deal and had a buddy E mail him asking if it was still for sale. he said the 1st one with 7k gets it! I told the guy it would take a few days and i had to pay 15% tax in what i took out of the account and hope he wasent going to sell it in the time being or say he had a better offer after i had the cash in hand. He told me it was a "deal" and not to worry, he is a ******* liar!!!! This guy will try and play you like a tune!!! The car is nice, real nice!! But with actions like that i wouldent trust his word for ****!!
