I ended up over there today while Leslie and my mother went over their plans for Vegas. I started pulling parts off the block. I got off everything except the oil metering pump and the water pump. Also the flywheel but only because I don't have the large sockey for the nut. I gotta borrow Rikkis or go buy one. I can tell it was the front seal that failed. The housing was flooded with coolant. Good thing is everything is looking really good. I think I am gonna get off light on the parts that need replacement. I had pics but the disc had an error and wouldn't work. I 'll grab some next time when I crack her open.

 

No work done today(Thursday) I will update tomorrow.

 

Stuck at a brick wall. I gotta getthe flywheel nut off and My **** isn't working. I am gonna get rikki's tools or go to PFS with it. I think Ray will take it off for me.

 

i used some ingenuity. had a giant angle iron and the giant flywheel socket and like a 5foot steel pole boom instant flywheel nut loosener

Yea I have done that trick before on stuff and was all ready todo it on this. I couldn't find a 2nd pipe for the front pulley bolt though. My dad is old and couldn't help me much holding the front with a 12" ratchit though.

I'll get it off tomorrow or Sunday when I can get the right tools.

 

One road block after another..

I got the flywheel nut off by using large breaker bars that I got my dad to weld up for me. The nut came right off but now I gotta get the fltwheel pulled off. I have to sya that having the right tools would make this job alot more enjoyable. I am gonna try to get some tools tomorrow. I have some help coming to also so I should be able to get her apart by Monday at the latest. I am curious to see how bad the coolant seal is. Hopefully I didn't break through to the water jacket. We'll see...

(sorry to sound like a smartass... it's the beer talking again... been drinking Morretti La Rossa tonight... (it's like 7.2% ABV... strong **** and VERY yummy, which makes it DANGEROUS)



one more thing... a little pearl of wisdom... if you don't have the right tools for the job... then what you have on your hands is an "oppurtunity" to obtain the right tools... don't let your woman tell you anything different...

Well she went with me to get the socket and breaker bar. I actually just took her an my mother to the airport. They are going to Vegas till Friday. So I am all by myself now with nothing to do but my car.
