Friday looks like a washout. What's the drill at 75/80 for Sundays? They still have Sunday afternoon/evening racing?

Anybody know how serious 75/80 or Capitol is about battery relocation?

NHRA rules require an external cut-off switch if the battery is moved to the passenger compartment and also require welding on the hold-down.

I was going to have the battery moved to the passenger side bin while they are doing the rollbar so that I could put in a bigger intercooler for next year but I damn sure don't want an external cut-off switch on a street car.

Having gone to the trouble of meeting NHRA rules concerning the rollbar, if I move the battery without the switch I won't be NHRA legal anyway and both of the tracks are run with NHRA rules.

Maybe I should just leave the battery alone?

Anybody have experience with these two tracks or know anybody who dealt with the battery issue there?

I'll bet the tech at the track won't even know it's in the bin if you leave the cover on it

You really should have a shut off for saftey, but you may want to read the rules again to see if there are any specifics about "exterior of car". If they don't exclude it, I'd put it under the car below the bin. Offically it is on the exterior of the car, just out of site. Another option is the remote cutoff switch that uses a cable or rod to activate. The handle could be placed in some covered part of the car....say the gas filler door maybe...

just a few ideas I had

Tom I will show you my setup whenever we are able to get to the track. It is pretty slick and 100% NHRA legal. You wont even know I have it unless I show you!!!! Believe me it isnt as bad of a problem as you think.

Honestly this was probably a cooler "build" and innovation than my LS1 swap!! I didnt want some ugly *** thing on the back of the car either.

BTW 75-80 DOESNT CARE!!!!!
