Dave is responsible for four of my blown motors, all due to faulty tuing.
Ernie,

I am not trying to start a battle here... just in search of more info so that I can tune MY FD safely

What specific items do you feel were not tuned to your satisfaction by Dave? Was it AFRs? Was the timing poorly chosen for your combo of boost/port/fuel?

On another note, do you have a recent dyno graph with mods list that you'd care to share with me? If you don't want to give that sort of info out since you race, that's cool, but I'd like to see it

Regards,

Brian

Brian,

One motor he popped on the dyno(Timing too far advanced for pump gas). The next popped because after he rebuilt it, he didnt adjust the map after he blew the motor!! The next motor was due to the wrong wastegate spring being installed. So it was three, not four. My mistake. Dave IS NOT a tuner. His excuse at the time was that he didn't have the datalogit. Fine, but don't charge me for you ignorance!! He ate one of the motors after I pitched a holy fit, but the very next time I pick it up the wrong wastegate spring is in. Makes a guy wonder how honest people are....ya know. Im just glad Demetrios had tought me how to do all this ****, so I don't have to pay anyone anymore. Only thing I can't do is the actual rebuild process and tuning, but as you can see from my timeslips, Im very happy with my tuner. Im acutally going to pull the motor in the next month and have Demetrios port it for me.

Ahh you sissy! Port that motha yourself man!!

Seriously though I would have never did my own if I could have afforded to pay someone to do it.

It is to my benifit to do it all myself but It would have been nice to be able to drop it off and say ok fix it!
