My first time out and I spun out like a mofo leaving the staging area.

No traction. Also I cant smoke tires worth a ****.

Ernie, you gotta give me some pointers man. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

Thanks for helping me stage.

I did have fun and i will be back.

I have a new fouind respect for drag racing.

Getting the car to not spin out is harder than I thought.

Did anyone see the car hit the wall?

I left right after my run.

Not to be a blowhart but there is alot of room for improvement.

My car can do an 11 sec pass. I have no doubt in my mind.

But it is going to be hard for me to learn how to make that happen.

It took me a few nights to really get the hang of drag racing. All it is is practice.

Did you do what i told you for a burnout? Just dump the clutch, and hit the brakes hard with your left foot and you will not go anywhere.

rfreeman27 11-09-2003 05:30 PM

How did everybody else do?

Honestly Bobby you were about the last thing on my mind.

There was a pretty big crowd and I just did what came to my head.

Ernie lined me up and told me to "heel to toe it". I looked at him like "huh" LOL. He was looking at me like "what a dumbass" https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

I floored it and just burned out. Then when I launched I floored it again and just spun out all through 1st gear almost. It was pretty sad. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

LOL

Remember...just chillllll

On friday nights at 75-80 there is a SHITLOAD of people there, 3/4ths of them are completley wasted. My first few times I got nervous, thats why i told you to chill.

Fd3BOOST 11-09-2003 06:13 PM

I wasnt nervous of drivin. I was scared that I was going to do something wrong and hold up the line.

Noone tells you what your supposed to do. I had to guess wtf i was supposed to be doing. I am amazed that they let any Tom, Dick or Harry on that track without any form of instructions or rules that they go over with you prior to racing. For guys like me who never raced before it is nerve racking.

Thank god Ernie showed up and kind of point me in the right direction.

Yup,

75-80 is the worst, there are some characters up there...

93 R1 11-09-2003 07:34 PM

So you didn't do the John Force burnout? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

For the burnout, pull past the water, rev, drop clutch, get it spinning and get on the brakes so it moves slowly foward.

You gotta launch it easy. Try like 4-5000rpm and slip the clutch Or put on ET streets and just ******* sidestep the clutch at 7000 rpm and hang on.
