Dpulse here,I was constantly being prodded for a post so here it is. I am a toyota fan (yea yea blasphemy). I used to own a 1989 Rx7 convertable 5spd but got rid of it because at the time a rotary totally freaked me out and still does. I had/have/had afriend who constantly rips on imports. My most unfavorite line from him is there is no replacement for displacement. I have never ever believed this addage. A rotary seems to be an exception to the rule although the low torque is a major buzz kill and I am warry of high reving engines(have a d16z6 and aint likin' it as much as much as a 5sfe, yea yea loony.). After finally gettin an 87 ae86, I had a strict criteria for an engine swap and the 4 engines that fit the bill was the silver top,a CCE(not even available), the vortec 2800 out of a Colorado, or a 12a/13b/t. The rotary's potential kinda edged out the others. The CCE was eliminated because it may not be availible for years to come. So.. The more I learned about rotaries the more interesting it got. That pulse, its diminutive size & large hp potential. Have a few pals with rotary toyotas and the favorite passtime is walkin round the garage making rotary sounds. I have a new found respect for such an amazing piece of technology. Most of what I want to ask has been answered. Only problem is s4 or s5 both dead even for pros and cons. coin toss time.

Welcome to nopistons! Why would an S4 be better than an S5? (you said there are pros and cons for both)
