Suggestions for a good lemons endurance car? Turbo or NA?
#1
I am looking around for a good project car to turn into an endurance race car. I can only spend $500 on car, engine, suspension, and trans. So, price is a consideration but there are ways to get creative. For example I can sell the entire interior and glass to get the price back under 500.
My initial thought is to keep looking for a fc t2 car but the goal is to finish the race. If I could make 200 hp from a NA engine reliably, I think that would be enough.
I just did the race in a Porsche 944 and we got passed like crazy. That car didn't have enough power and upgrading it cost rediculous $.
Are the hp gains worth the turbo heat and complexity? Can I get 200 hp from a free flowing and mildly ported NA motor that will last 12 hours of hammering?
Thanks in advance.
