Hello everyone, I figured it would be good for me to post here first just to get to know the crowd and at least get my foot in the door. I'm picking up an '86 RX-7 project in a few hours, and would want a little insight. The engine's been rebuilt within the last 60k, and it's been sitting for a while now. From what I can tell it attempts to turn over, but it's not getting fuel. However, due to the extremely low price on this thing, I can't turn it down; nothing worse than seeing a great car go to waste in a junkyard. At any rate, I'm hoping to have it up and running soon, assuming I don't have TOO much work on my hands, and maybe it will turn out to be a Christmas gift to myself. I was recently running a 3000GT SL, but after my 300ZX I've had a real passion for riding sideways, and it doesn't hurt that I've wanted an RX-7 for years now, so hopefully this one pans out well. I'll upload pictures once I get it home, so hopefully I'll be able to learn plenty of things from you guys in the near future. I guess that's all I got for now, looking forward to hearing from you guys!

Welcome to nopistons! Exactly how long has it been sitting and why did it get parked in the first place?

Thanks, and she's been sitting for a couple months he parked her because he was running out of time/money to get her up for the local drift comps. I just got her home today and I'm thinking it's just the old fuel that's really holding things up. Gonna go ahead and unflood it tomorrow maybe and try to get it running. Just cranking she sounds solid like she wants to turn over, so hopefully, a little bit of application and I'll be driving around tomorrow. It's already a pretty decent setup, has the first couple steps of Rotaryman88's NA upgrade stages done; I'm probably gonna do the injectors soon if I need to, but for now I'm just gonna focus on getting her up and running. I will update soon, and hopefully with pics and video!
