Hey whatsup everyone, my name is Joe I am from Toronto area in Ontario, Canada.

I bought my RX7 January 31, 2010. She is a black 1992 Efini RX7. 130,000km on the body and blown engine. Got an amazing deal on it so decided to go ahead and swap a used JDM engine.

That failed and she still sits in my driveway with a newer, but blown nonetheless, engine. Seems like a major coolant seal leak, but is also really rough and only pulling about 12-13inches vacuum at 1100rpm idle.

So I have decided to bite the bullet and go for a rebuild. My dilemma now is whether to spend big bucks to take it to a shop, or use this as a huge learning opportunity for myself, and do the rebuild on my own.

I already have a daily driver, so this car is really just a project car for me. I am pretty handy and willing to learn so I would like to hear from some guys who have maybe attempted this themselves,

Thanks,

Joe.

...the last pic of the rear end is the most recent pic of how it looks in my driveway now.

Welcome to nopistons! The car looks great, good luck with the rebuild, whichever way you decide to go.

if i was you i'd practice tearing down and reassembling the first blown engine a couple times so you'll know what you're doing when you get into the jdm. best of luck and welcome in!!

Hi, I have a 91 13b single turbo with tranny from jdm that I am looking to swap trade or barter for a rebuilt 12a. Motor is supposed to have less than 50k. I have a 12a in my 67 datsun that I was looking to swap but it will be a lot of work since I dont have room for the turbo. Motor is complete with tranny, ecu, coil packs,ac,air pump, power steering, mounts etc. I have 1800 into the motor and trans
