Good afternoon: Found this club and decided to join on for a good reason: my wife's nephew gave me his '87 RX-7 with the 13B to work on as long as I want to. The vehicle was given to him by his friend that can hardly run. My nephew did put new plugs in the thing and it does run better, but the power is just not there. Plus, he has to use starter fluid to get the thing started, which right there, I was beginning to point to an ECU issue that isn't letting the ISC do any high idle function, but there is no CEL light.

Thus, I would need some help with this since not too familiar with the rotary out side of driving the first rotary Mazda (think it was the Mazda 808 based sports vehicle) back in 1972 and my father bought a Johnson snowmobile with the rotary in it in 1973-just more knowledgeable in piston motors.

Thx again and good luck all in this Mazda world that is fun to be in
