Hey everyone,



While I've been to the site once or twice, I've never really had a reason to frequent the forums. Well, my friend has finally said enough to make me want some sort of rotary-powered vehicle.



I'm all about the search engine for looking for answers (hey, using the search function adds like 50hp to your ride!!1! ), but you can expect some off-the-wall questions from me that I don't think have been asked (maybe because they don't make sense ;D).

 

welcome aboard and we aren't really big sticklers for the "use the search feature" rule. there's lots of info in the faq section, but you are more then welcome to ask any questions ya got!

What kinda car are you looking at getting ? Maybe a Repu ?

 

first off, thx for all the welcomes. im looking forward to frequenting myself around here



as for what im looking for, actually, right now im more interested in the engine itself than any specific model (though a rx7/8's are VERY attractive ;D)



right now im a junior at college, so my budget is very small, as is the area that i can work on this stuff when im at home (no room here, really, plus my friend's step dad does race engines, so i figure he can help me w/some tools if i need something). while im here i plan to get a scale rotary engine (1/5 model available on amazon something im looking at), but honestly i think my best bang for the buck for learning about rotary engines would be to get a small motorcycle and fit a rotary engine to it



i've looked at the norton and a few other bikes, but they're a little too oudated, in design, for me. but, unfortunately, i can't find any place that will sell smaller-scale rotaries. the only idea that i've come up with (with the help of my friend) is to try and stuff 1 rotor off of his 12a under there. any comments on this idea?



also, i have almost no experience outside of a drawing board, so this may not even be feasible
