Hey yall, my name is Brittany...I drive a 1990 Nissan 240sx hatch with a '93 KA24DE swap...I was planning on turboing the KA, and still might, but I'm getting a little tired of being part of such a big "craze"...everyday, I see 2-3 new 240's pop up, and it's just starting to get a little bit old.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my car, and if I could afford to have two cars, I would, but I'm now considering selling my baby and gettin a 2nd Gen RX-7.

As of now, I don't know all that much about rotaries, so I joined this forum to read up about them, and check out the For Sale section.

Here's a picture of my car for ***** & giggles...

Welcome to the forum!

any custom turbo car is probably going to be high maitenance and expensive, but the payback is worth it imo.

For a while I had a n/a 2nd gen and a turbo 2nd gen, and loved them both for what they were. But n/a just doesn't give me the g's I need lol, so it had to go.

Well reliability is important of course, but again, this HUGE craze...

I just want something that not EVERYONE and their brother has...

It's still a toss-up...2nd Gen RX, S12 200sx, MR2, or MKIII Supra...my uncle has the latter (in Ohio) that he had been trying to sell forever in Florida, and I'm sure he'd give it to me for no more than $1000...white T-top turbo...only downside is that it's an automatic, but if I sell my car, I will still have some money left over from that to do a tranny swap...

Welcome to the forums. Good to see a chick that actually has a clue about cars. Hope you find what you are looking for.

Welcome! I would either buy a turbo 2, mr2 turbo, or turbo that KA. I know rev hard makes a pretty bad *** turbo kit for the KA. No matter what car you begin to modify reliability goes down. if reliability is a huge issue then you should buy an srt4 or something new with a warranty. but i think you have your choices narrowed down.

If you are perfomance-minded, stay away from the MKIII Supra. Heavy, and not-to-mention, heavy.

If Performance, Rare-factor, and reliability are your top pick's, look to the MKII Mr2-Turbo or an FC TII.

I owned a MKII-Turbo w/ 14psi on stock turbo's. It was pretty fun to drive, unique, and something worth looking at. IMO, the FC can look better (and does stock vs. stock) especially given it's better front-view. Mr2 looked like such a frog.

The mr2 does have t-tops and a better looking interior on it's side, however the MR setup leaves less room for other "junk" and harder to work on (the pain in the back of your knees, Argh!)

T-II Reliability I can not comment on. While it may have less engine-reliability trouble than my FD due to its simplification, it is older than my FD so it probably can have more problems due to just being old.

Good luck in whatever you do, read up...plenty to learn/know...

Welcome! Always good to see more 240 chicks around. I'm selling my 95 S14 to get a 7. Don't get me wrong I do love my car and babied it, but like you said this stupidass craze is definitely getting old. I'm on here the same reason you are, so I hope to see you around!

Stick with the KA and turbo it. The craze now seems to be SR20 swaps. I have a couple friends with turboed KA's putting down over 400hp to the wheels. Only problem they have is with a head gasket every now and again. But they are quick freaking cars. Good luck.
