Hey everybody, I recently traded my 305 87 Trans Am auto for a N/A 87 RX7 and I have to say I am more than happy wiith the swap Compared to the auto Trans am it feels like im strpped to a rocket ship, nmot to mention im pleased ill get a ill better gas milage.

Its a 5 speed, doesnt leak, seems to be in good condtion, it has 146,000 miles and doesnt make any crazy noises or rattling, like my friends 91 N/A did which had a rebuild but was beaten on every day. No power steering is new to me but I'm starting to like the non p/s, overall im very happy to now call my self a rotory owner and plAn on doing the bacis exhaust and intake, probably custom CAI thanks to this site and you guys. Eventually doing a rebuild, but am definetly keeping it N/A.

edit: forgot to mention that the aftermarket radio is being held in its place by a brake fluid bottle, lol, the previous owner came up with that genius idea! lol

Congrats on the purchase, and welcome to nopistons! Reminds me so much of my old '86, it was gold with maroon, and originally 4-lug.

Let me know when you're ready to buy a radio surround. I have the stock piece for that car, which isn't as nice as the series 5 one (hard plastic vs. rubber), but it's not broken.

Lol I know the feeling, I used to swear by bow tie till I got a first gen rx7. Once you have a rotary, you're hooked lol

Went for a drive last night on some amazing back roads here out east on Long Island and for the first time I really have had a chane to open the RX7 up. Wow, the acceleration in third is amazing, the handling is amazing barely any body roll compared to the Trans Am, which still was a pretty good handling car. The Trans Am suprised me when I first got it, but the set up on this RX7 and the fact that it is alot lighter makes the ride much more exciting.

I think Im going to order corksport front and rear strut bar set, any have any experience with corksport products, should I go with some other company. Any info would help, thanks.

Also looking into thier exhuast set up, it seems to sound good from the youtube clips and its much cheaper than Racing beat, but I dont know I it will be the same quailty, anyone here have that exhaust set up on thier FC?

Corksport has been around for years and has done a lot of racing with rotaries so I'd trust their stuff even though I haven't experienced their parts first hand
