I just bought a 93 with only 41k miles on it. I'm looking at doing some mods on it and have found some decent information. An area that I really need some help in is tire and wheel selection. I want the car set up for street/drag. Fifteen hundred is about the limit I can go to on this mod. Any advice would be appreciated.

For 1.5k I would upgrade your radiator and add the Pettit TKT package. Great stuff....

I was planning on going with a fluidyne. What's the Pettit package you're reffering to? And the tired are a priority since they are the originals that came with it according to the previous owner. They have about 10 thousand more miles left. So I was going to replace the wheels while I was at it.

Well not too many people feel the same way about the TKT package as I do. The package basically come with...Pettit Intake, Pettit pullies, and your choice of exhaust. The claim to add 60hp to the crank. I was very satisified with the package because you dont need to upgrade your computer. It keeps your car looking stock. Reliable and is a great set-up. Check it out at Pettitracing.com If you dont choose their setup...then you can get other brands products also.

you can PM Vosko about his track-tires, but AFAIK, the stock 3rd gen wheels are the weapon of chioce for drag racers, including MKIV supra owners, S13 and S14 240SX's, etc.

I was planning on using HKS parts as much as possible. The Japaneese tuners use them a lot, and they have a good reputation here. They may be expensive, but I'll pay more for quality. I don't know much about wheels or suspension. Those are my weakest links so I'd appreciate links to places that can give me good basic information. No pun intended.

Just because a part is used widely doesnt mean its best.

HKS downpipes come to mind.
