My Introduction
#1
Hello.
I'll make my story short as can be. Before I could drive I loved Skylines. Turned 16, reality set in...they don't make them here. I learned how to drive on an Eclipse/Integra and then got into sports cars:
Easily sucked into the Supra craze, I researched Rx7's at the time and let the Reliability Ignorance scare me away. In a failing attempt to by a bent up MKIV Supra (overpriced mind you, thats why) I decided to go for something more affordable:
My first fun little sports car: A MKII Mr2 Turbo with Profec B, Intake, and Rims. Fun t-top'd car. But the "Mod" bug had me losin any cash that would go toward the Supra I still would want in the future.
But, alas, I learned clutch, RWD, and even how crazy MR can be with that car. Sold it and went back to saving. Meanwhile, I picked up an NA MKI Mr2 (handles even better!) that is recently for sale because I need a practical car (FWD for snow, 5 seats for people/band equipment).
The most important thing I found out in my MR experience (and attending a local AutoX this whole summer)...is how much I love a car that handles (and is quick, not just fast). Both my pocket and my love to turn the steering wheel brought me to research more and more the best car for what I want: Mazda Rx7.
That brought me to many FD FAQ's, I learned a lot without asking Newbie questions so that's why I haven't posted much yet. I know of a few owners and they have been nothing but nice and informative.
So with that being said, Cheers to the best Car I would/will ever own other than a Skyline. I know the mr2 had a great community, I hope the Rotary fanatics are just the same.

Thanks fella's for the big welcome. I've seen almost all of you post in the past (I know it sounds sneaky) and that's cool.
FWIW, I have a budget of $14k or so and was thinking of going the route of buying a blown Rx7 and taking care of who/where/how its rebuilt myself. This will all take place by Spring, buy a car now/soon, fix/rebuild over the winter.
I look forward to talking with you guys, and unveiling my dream setup as it unveils....
Oh, and what do you guys think of the other Rx7 board (Rx7club.com)? Are you guys over there too? Or is there a love/hate thing like I-Supra and Supraforums? (I don't want to start a flame war, just wondering)

We like to call it the "evil forum"
I dont think its that bad, but there is so much bullshit over there it isnt even funny. Some people have trouble with getting banned for no reason at all, ect. Plus that server is so slow. I was trying to post some pics over there today and it was impossible. I personally dont have anything against the other forum, there are some good guys over there that really know their stuff. But again, that club is alot bigger and there are tons or newbies (bad newbies...that start flame wars ect) and it gets very old.

I see what you mean. The only BS that is scarey would be to hear "Oh yea, you can boost 18psi fine on a stock 13b...." you know?
I really want to know my stuff, and at least have others help walk me through it. Learn from "Others" mistakes you know?
Cool enough. I think I found a new home. And half of the guys I am seeing a lot (like Vosko) seem to be from my area:
I live in Orange County NY (Yes, near OC Choppers, in fact I took his daughter to Prom and know Paul )...and a lot of you guys seem to be from North Jersey or NY as well. I'm like, 35 min from the NJ border, and an hour and change from Limerock!
I'll be seein you guys around. Nice to meet you all.
